Jets 2nd Q costs them vs Falcons

Jets 8-13 Falcons

The Jets suffered their fifth straight defeat at the hands of the Falcons yesterday, where a 10-3 2nd quarter ultimately cost them. The main talking point post game however was the current QB debate, where the Jets are mulling over starting a 4th QB this season.

Following Aaron Rodgers Achilles injury earlier in the season, Coach Saleh has played two QBs, first Zach Wilson and now Tim Boyle. Boyle had (14-for-25, 148 yards) last night, with Saleh being left frustrated with missed chances.

"I felt like there was a lot of missed opportunities with potential explosive plays, possible touchdowns, on the field today."
We've got to find a way to take advantage when we have those opportunities."

Robert Saleh, Jets Head Coach

Key Points:

  • Reports suggest Aaron Rodgers will not play any part in the rest of the season

  • Trevor Siemian could be the 4th QB to play for the Jets this season if he starts next week

  • The Jets (4-8) currently sit 3rd in the AFC East, only above the Patriots.

What to Look for Next:

  • A potential QB change could be on the cards for when the Jets host the Texans on Sunday at 13:00 ET in MetLife Stadium.

Rangers hang on to defeat Sharks

Rangers 6-5 Sharks

Artemi Panarin had three goals and an assist to help lift the Rangers over the Sharks at MSG on Sunday night. Mika Zibanejad, Will Cuylle and K'Andre Miller were also on the scoresheet for the Rangers.

Jonathan Quick stopped 23 shots to improve to 7-0-1 this season, becoming the first goaltender with a point in eight consecutive starts to begin his tenure with the Rangers.

โ€œHeโ€™s always been an elite player but you appreciate him more when you watch him day in and day out.โ€ณ

Rangers coach Peter Laviolette

Things to Note:

  • This is the Rangers 6th win in 7 games

  • The Rangers have the most wins of any team this season at 18

  • This was the Rangers 300th franchise win!

What to keep an eye on:

  • The Rangers look to continue their good form and add to their 16 wins in 19 games when the travel to Ottawa on Tuesday.
